J.J. Abrams the creator of the hit television shows Alias and Lost was brought on board for this new version of Star Trek and his vision was an expensive one. Abrams wanted to make a fast paced movie that would combine elements of the Star Trek universe with the faster pacing of a Star Wars movie.
