Quentin Tarantino has strong dialogue in his movies and is inspired by movies he has watched over the years, his influences are wide and diverse but he puts a new spin on things, he made this film as part of a double feature with Planet Terror.

This movie was shot in the same way as Sin City but unlike that movie this one unfortunately plays like a bad comedy, and by that i meant it just isn’t funny and nor is it exciting enough to pass itself off as an action movie or a thriller.

I enjoyed this movie and thought the image quality was very good. The film reminded me of the television show Heroes and the director was fond of closeups which showed great detail on this blu ray disc. I didn’t see any compression issues which stood out to me and most people will consider this disc excellent.

Blu Ray Film Review of GI Joe The Rise Of Cobra. A military unit known as GI Joe do battle with a Scottish arms dealer who is developing nano technology weapons and in the background is an evil organization known as Cobra. I felt the second half of this film just fell apart and the director admits his love of Thunderball inspired the underwater ending. The problem with Thunderball was that the underwater scenes just dragged on and on and they ended up almost sending me to sleep and this was exactly my feelings about those scenes in this film.

All medium to long distance camera shots on the DVD edition were blurry and lacked detail, the Blu Ray edition restores all this lost detail. In my opinion even with a new state of the art transfer using the best film elements this will not look significantly better than it does here.

This film contains a lot of computer graphic effect shots and i thought the image quality for this type of film was excellent. I saw no compression issues or other problems with the transfer.

I found the film rivetting and Cruise’s performance was excellent. The supporting cast also did a fine job and Bryan Singers direction was good.

Ghost features wonderful performances from the cast, Demi Moore plays Molly with Patrick Swayze as Sam and an Oscar winning performance from Whoopi Goldberg as Oda Mae Brown. The scene where Molly sheds a tear as Sam lifts a coin and the music score swells is an emotional and memorable moment.
