About twelve years ago, on my first viewing of Alien Resurrection, i was not impressed, i disliked the film intensely, i felt it desecrated the memory of the previous films which had ended appropriately with Alien3, It was many years later when the Alien Quadrilogy boxset was released that i re-visited the movie, i watched the extended cut and enjoyed it much more this time around.
Many people were disappointed by Alien3, they feel that after the adrenaline pumping excitement of Aliens that it was a bit of a downer and in killing off some characters they loved they feel that the third film disrespects the audience, there is something inevitable about what happens in this film and it’s done in a way that brings the series to a logical conclusion.
The plot of Aliens should be well known by now, the sole survivor of the Nostromo, Ripley, is found floating in space after 57 years in hyper sleep, the company Weyland-Yutani are a little unhappy about Ripley blowing up their expensive ship in Alien.
