Empires Of The Deep is a fantasy film financed by a Chinese billionaire, it’s centred around a love story between a man and a Mermaid and the war that rages around them, featuring former Bond girl Olga Kurylenko as the Mermaid. I have seen the trailer and still’s from the film, it looks interesting to me, the effects work is poor but if they could fix it then it could at the very least make for a visually interesting movie.

The original Texas Chainsaw Massacre was released in 1974 and the remake in 2003, i happen to like them both, i would even go so far as to say that the remake was better than the 74′ version or maybe i just have a soft spot for Jessica Biel, no really, it was better, more atmosphere and better acting and overall it just had much better production values, of course better production values does not in itself make a better film, look at the remake of Planet Of The Apes or Peter Jackson’s remake of King Kong, both of them had superior visual effects work but they lacked the charm of the original films.

Zack Snyder is directing the new Superman film and Henry Cavill will play the title character, Amy Adams has been cast as Lois Lane with Diane Lane playing Martha Kent and if negotiations go well then expect to see Kevin Costner playing Jonathan Kent. Rowling, they have adapted this into two films which were shot back to back.

I hope they give Tea something to do in this movie as she is a very good comedy actress, star names can ask for script rewrites which can lessen the parts of their fellow cast members while increasing their onscreen time and often that is to the detriment of the film.

Shooting soon is new sci-fi film Looper, it’s about a group of killers ( Loopers ) who work for a crime syndicate in the not too distant future, these killers don’t time travel back to the past to kill people but instead go forward in time and bring their targets back to the past.

Clive Barker wrote the screenplay and directed the original 1987 film version of Hellraiser, it was adapted from his novel The Hellbound Heart, since then there have been seven sequels, Dimension are now making a new entry into the series called Hellraiser: Revelations.

I am getting pretty excited about a new film called The Raven which will be based on Edgar Allen Poe and his pursuit of a serial killer who murders people in a similiar fashion to the writer’s stories, John Cusack will play Edgar Allen Poe.

Paramount are thought to be seeking to reboot the franchise and have cast Jeremy Renner as a younger agent and part of Hunt’s ( Cruise’s) team, the thinking is that Paramount see Renner as an ideal future replacement for Cruise.

In Shark Night a weekend away turns into a horror show as a freshwater shark goes on a cold date with Sara Paxton, they watch Finding Nemo and then it’s onto the main course, that’ll be raw paxton with some water!
