I sometimes wonder if they have a computer churning out these scripts on a daily basis and then some scriptwriter comes along and touches the screenplay up, so many films seem to have high concept idea’s but someone forgets that dialogue and likeable characters who you care for are needed
A film like this needs a superb director and Victor Fleming was in my opinion the best director alive in 1939. Fleming manages to get great performances from his cast and brings a sense of fun to the film that other lesser directors would not have achieved.
The image quality is mostly superb with very high detail levels and simply gorgeous CGI animated backgrounds but check the negatives below for some minor issues.
It was reported that at one stage Foxx ended up getting cuts and bruises to his face because a fight between LL and Foxx became more than just acting.
The Hollow Man is in many ways an updating of the old invisible man films from the 1930’s but has the added benefit of some truly wonderful CGI visual effects.
Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor suffered some early problems when Rachel Weisz announced she would not be returning in the role of Evelyn.
The bass content was low and deep and filled the room with low frequency energy. I could feel the bass all around me and it hit hard.
Picture quality on this release is very good with a very film like look with a fine layer of grain which is never distracting but gives a cinematic look to the image.
Sound quality was a bit diminished on this release and it left me wondering if they altered it for a home remix and lowered the dynamic range.
Image quality is high and i know some reviews have mentioned the possibility of DNR but i do not agree.
