HD Screencaps of Smallville season 9 on the blu ray format.
Smallville episode ten has someone from Oliver's past return, that's bad news and it puts his friends in danger, this gives us a little insight into Oliver's past and where he went a few seasons back when he left Smallville, it's a satisfying episode with good production values, episode 11 is a double episode and introduces us to the Justice League Of America, we get a peek at the old superheroes of the past and this comes straight out of the comic books, this is one of the standout episodes of season 9 and some of the effects work is very good, you will recognize Michael Shanks who plays Hawkman from Stargate, he is a lot more grizzled here, i like the nice touch when Dr Fate touches Clark and we get a glimpse of the Superman cape, episode 12 has Zatanna returning, a young boy touches an enchanted comic book and is turned into an adult hero, the catch is that this hero will turn evil and Chloe just happens to be his only friend, can Clark with the help of Zatanna reverse the spell before our young hero turns bad, Zatanna is another character from the DC universe and she works well in the world of Smallville, i enjoyed all three episodes.
Although the show is called Smallville much of the television show is now set in Metropolis and Clark and Lois are reporters working for the Daily Planet, this is setting us up for the final season of Smallville where Clark will complete his training and become Superman, it would be great if Warner Bros continued the show as a Superman series, they probably will not since they have big screen plans for Superman and may not want a small screen version playing at the same time, it's unlikely that Tom Welling would want to be the character since he has played it for a full ten years, shame really as there is massive potential here for a fabulous tv show.
Image quality is good, i actually thought these episodes had slightly better compression than previous episodes, especially episode 11, the sound quality is also good but i feel they could do more with the surround channels, i suppose in the tv world they have to mix these things fast and so compromises must be made.
