Blu Ray Screencaps of Pandorum.
The initial plot for Pandorum has Corporal Bower and Lieutenant Payton waking up from hypersleep aboard a spaceship, they are both suffering from deep sleep memory loss and there is something wrong with the ship and something else onboard.
The film was supposed to be part of a planned trilogy but it did not perform well at the box office so sequels are unlikely, i never let poor box office performance put me off a film, some of my favourite films have been box office flops, it entertained me and thats one of the things i ask for in a film.
The creatures onboard the ship reminded me a little of the underground dwellers in The Descent and i think also bear a striking resemblance to the creature design from a television series called Earth 2 which only ran for one season.
The script, acting and direction were all good.
There is a lot of backstory filled in during the film and i think its better to let you find out the complete story for yourself so i will not reveal any spoilers here.
I found this a gripping film with some nice twists and turns, good acting from the lead actors Dennis Quaid and Ben Foster aided by good support from Antje Traue and Cung Le.
Image quality was very good, the film has a lot of dark interior shots aboard the spaceship and i felt detail levels were good in those scenes, be warned that if you dislike film grain then you will not enjoy this movie, as so much of the film takes place in dark corridors there is a lot of film grain, this is normal as shooting in darker lit interiors will result in added film grain, they may also have deliberately went for this look, i enjoyed the look and felt the film grain added texture to the image. In my opinion the compression job on this disc was superb.
Sound quality was good but not great, clear and easy to hear speech, some good split surround activity and all the speakers did get a workout but i felt the bass could have been deeper and moved the air more, this was my only real complaint about the sound quality and i think most people will enjoy this soundtrack. the sound codec used is Dolby True HD.
I would recommend this film, the disc is the UK edition and region free.

That was one really creepy movie, and messed up!
I liked it, it was a pleasant change from the usual Hollywood output, the ending was also a surpise for me.
