Olga Kurylenko was born on the 14th of November 1979 in Berdyansk, Zaporozhye Oblast, Ukraine.

Her full name is Olga Konstantinovna Kurylenko and she studied art and languages when growing up, Olga also did seven years at musical school studying piano and did ballet till the age of thirteen.

In her teenage years she became a model and appeared on the cover of many famous publications, she also became the face of Lejaby lingerie.

Olga made her film debut in 2005 with L'annulaire and she speaks fluent English and French.

She loves classic old movies and thanks to her studies when she was younger can play the piano.

(Discussing the movie The Serpent) Where I come from in the Ukraine, the girls from Slavic countries get trapped in the same way illegally as the character I play in this film. Their papers and passport get taken and they are used in the sex trade. She is being used as a tool – a way of destroying people, she is being used herself. This happens to a lot of girls; they think they are going somewhere nice for a new life but it's not what happens.

I don't see divorce as a failure. I see it as the end to a story. In a story, everything has an end and a beginning. We were born and we die. In between I think we try to live as best we can. I am glad to have spent a part of my life with my two ex-husbands. My divorces were not a sad experience. It's just communication.

And I said, Mum, there is a man and I don't know who he is, and she said, Oh, I introduce you, that's your father. I met him again when I was 13. I saw him in my life three times. At eight, at 13, and then last time three years ago.

All of the ugly people must be talented if the beautiful people are all stupid. I was just born like this. I didn't ask for it.

(Talking about her childhood) I couldn`t have anything, basically. I couldn`t have any clothes I wanted, shoes, beds, clothes for school – because my mum couldn`t buy them.
