Blu Ray Screencaps of 30 Days Of Night.
In Barrow, Alaska the sun sets for thirty days and with the darkness comes terror in the shape of vampires who have set upon the destruction of the small isolated town and only a handful of people are left alive to try and survive the 30 days of night.
It's never fully explained how the vampires came to be in the town but we do see a ghostly looking ship at the beginning of the film, which you can view in frame 2 of the screencaps, so i assume thats how they travel, beats flying i suppose but it hardly looked like a luxury liner although i'm sure they had something ( or someone ) to drink onboard. I enjoyed this film, i liked the cinematography and the snowy looking landscapes and the film had a fabulous cinematic look to them.
I have read some people's comments about mild edge enhancement in the film but i'm not so sure and feel it may just be the the lens interaction with the light. Films with snowy landscapes and set at night with characters wearing dark outfits are very revealing when it comes to edge enhancement especially if you have your sharpness control just a tiny bit too high and i suspect people seeing edge enhancement in this film have the sharpness a tiny bit too high or their monitor/projector is introducing some mild ringing, if you see edge halo's on this film then i recommend you turn your sharpness control down.
The image quality was very good and the sound mix was also good but i felt in places it could have been better and more dynamic, bass could have gone deeper although it's a perfectly serviceable sound mix, the sound codec used for this disc was DTS HD-Master Audio 5.1

Just borrowed the DVD off a friend and looking forward towatching it. The Blu-ray certianly looks worth getting too. I'll wait to see what I think of the movie itself though before buying.
I only rented, i don’t think i would buy this and i’m a horror fan, well worth a rental though.
