Wanted comes to Blu Ray courtesy of Universal and is not region coded.
I will leave my thoughts about the film for a proper review sometime in the future but suffice to say i really enjoyed this movie and welcomed a proper return to R rated Hollywood action movies.
Far too many movies get watered down for a PG-13 certifcate because it is seen as more commercially viable but some films just are not suited to such a certificate and Wanted falls into that category of films which benefit from the more adult R certificate.
In the UK this is an 18 certificate which means it is a harder R certificate since soft R rated films usually get the 15 certificate in the UK and some R rated films were given 12A over here such as Terminator 3 or Last Of The Mohicans.
The sound quality on this disc is excellent and i found the mix to be dynamic and open.
This movie was shot in the Super 35 format and used Kodak fine grain film stock. Some of this movie used the Red One 4k Camera system.
The image is very good and i have added it to the reference list here.
If you examine frames 16, 17 and 18 very closely with the brightness on your display turned up you will notice in some darker lit fast moving scenes a few compression issues.
Under normal viewing conditions this compression issue did not appear visible to me thus a well calibrated display should ensure no annoyances in your viewing of this film.
Check out the closeups in frames 5, 7 and 11. There is nice detail throughout this movie.
