The Searchers is a good film but i personally feel Red River is John Waynes best western.
I originally thought this film had some edge enhancement but i feel it is more likely ringing either as a result of the photochemical process or more likely the lenses used at the time of filming, whatever it is i can say it's minor and not a huge problem.
This particular film's original negatives were in bad shape and Warner had to do a very expensive and time consuming restoration, the colours have been criticized by some but i feel it represents the original look of the film and Warner invested time and money in this transfer.
The screencaps should give you an idea of how this film looks in high definition and i think it looks gorgeous. One day i'll sit down and write a review of the film.

I’ll have some Blu Ray screencaps from Rio Bravo sometime this year but i really couldn’t say when.
I have loved the Searchers since I was a child.
These screencaps are beautiful. The quality is awesome. I absolutely adore those sunset scenes. Every time I see them I am filled with delicious dread, because you know what comes after.
There is one particular sunset scene I love above the others however, and that is the scene where you see Debbie putting the plates on the table for their evening meal. It shows the colours of the sunset through both the window and the open door. Would it be possible to make a screencap of this?
The scene is after you see Aaron on the porch with the dog and before the scene with son and mother at the open door.
With the son saying, 'I wish Uncle Ethan was here.'
I’ll get the disc out tomorrow and see if i can find the scene and add it to the page.

Talking about hugs that reminds me that we’re having a general election soon and if David Cameron gets into office we will all be hugging hoodies. ( as they call them ) If Gordon Brown gets in again half the country is emigrating to Australia and if Nick Clegg gets in we’re all going to be shaking our heads and asking who is this guy.
Gee kinda bleak really that whoever wins and gets into government is probaby going to be useless…..We’re doomed i tell ya…doomed.
I shouldn’t talk politics as it’s depressing and the standard of politician in the UK is very poor right now.
