Charlize Theron was born on the 7th August 1975 in South Africa.
Charlize trained as a classical ballet dancer and worked in both Europe and North America before a knee injury unfortunately forced her to retire.
Aged 18 she went to Hollywood but found work hard to come by until her breakthrough role three years later in 2 Days In The Valley in 1996.
Her status in the film world grew quickly and she earned an Oscar for her portrayal of Aileen Wuornos in Monster.
Future films include a number of sequels including The Brazilian Job, Mad Max: Fury Road, Hancock 2 and a remake of Sympathy For Lady Vengeance.
