Mad Max 4 aka Mad Max: Fury Road is in it's pre production stages for a 2011 release.
It appears George Miller who directed the previous two films in the series and also co-directed the third film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome has given up on persuading his old friend Mel Gibson to return to the part that made him a worldwide international star.
The film will be made late next year.
Rumors suggest Australian actor Sam Worthington will replace Mel Gibson in the franchise.
Worthington is a rising star in Hollywood after appearing in Terminator: Salvation and will soon be seen in the very expensive filmed in 3D James Cameron directed Avatar.
Charlize Theron has also signed up for a part in Fury Road.
I personally would prefer they try harder to get Mel Gibson on board for the main part as i dislike new actors taking over an established well known part.
