Angelina Jolie was born on the 4th June 1975 and is the daughter of actor Jon Voight.
Angelina won an Oscar for the film Girl Interrupted in 1999 and was also nominated for the Clint Eastwood film Changeling in 2008.
Married twice before to actors Jonny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton and there are rumours she is splitting from actor Brad Pitt.
Angelina is a goodwill ambassador to the United Nations and often visits third world countries and is heavily involved in humanitarian appeals and in particular those involving children.
Her movie career started in Cyborg 2 although one of her most notable early roles was in the feature film Hackers where she met her first husband Jonny Lee Miller. A little known fact is that she also appeared in a Meat Loaf video for the song Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through.
Angelina will next be seen in the action spy thriller Salt which is due to open in 2010. She will play the title character Evelyn Salt who is accused of being a russian spy and must go on the run to clear her name. This should be an exciting action packed thriller.
Angelina will provide her voice for a sequel to Kung Fu Panda and will also star in The Tourist.
